Message: Hi Vic

My take home from the leafy course…

I attended Victoria’s Vegetable and Herb workshop on 21st Sept 2019 as a solo participant. I am a novice planter, desperate for some semblence of green fingers as i have killed 6 lavenders and 2 rosemaries which i bought from the nurseries on 3 different occasions. *facepalm*

Registration, fixing up a date to meet and getting to her place were a breeze as instructions and expectations were clearly communicated.

Her big and spacious apartment was teaming with rows and rows of greens. She showed me around her impressive apartment garden filled with vege and herbs, and i am so thrilled with her lavender garden as she shared her recycle hacks and her take of a vertical garden. It was so inspiring to realize how much we really need, or need not spend, to get it going. Just upcycle your everyday stuff u got lying in ur house.

The workshop was conducted in her well lit study, and all the preparation of notes, tools, utensils, kits, plants and seedlings needed were laid neatly on the table.  As we followed thru the powerpoint presentation for the course, she would always stop and answer any query that i had.

Practical hands on went on hand in hand as we progressed with the workshop, from how certain things needed to be prepped, handling of the seedlings and plants, setting of the plants, and her take and success stories with the various methods and variety of her garden. It was truly eye opening, and i am very grateful for her sharing her treasure trove of knowledge and experiences.

Throughout the course, Vic was really patient and a good teacher and listener. The workshop came with plants and seedlings and hydro nutrient solution to bring home, and 3 weeks after the class, my plants and their root systems are still very much alive!! The precious lavender cutting which came home together with me has flourished with her wonder hydro nutrient solution and have grown such a thick strong stem, with lucious and frangrant leaves. I have even managed to get a cutting from the cutting and now setting it up for it to root.

Vic’s course is a good place for me start learning and knowing more about gardening and herbs and vege, and how to get it started and going. With the right know-how, methods and environment, she has demonstrated that it can be done easily.

I really learnt alot and enjoyed my time at her home. I have since been looking forward to my evening relaxing quiet time tending to the garden, watching them grow and enjoying the fragrance. I really enjoyed myself and this new found hobby.
