I remembered when I wrote this post in 2015, it was during the worst haze experience in Singapore.
Many people were stuck at home.
There were no schools.
But it became the best time to make gardening crafts from recyclables.
The original post in 2015 –
Going away for holidays? Worried about your plants?
Here is a Green project to gift yourself some extra peace of mind and save our environment by re-using more plastic bottles! đŸ™‚
How to make self-watering pots in 3 easy steps –
Make holes on caps to drain excess water
Cut holes on the side of bottles to absorb + drain water
Add medium (soil mix)
Please Note – Wick is optional because it can become algae-ly
For wet loving plants, the wick can be inserted fully in the reservoir.
For drier loving plants, the inner pot can be inserted higher from the water source.
Thus, adjust as needed based on plants’ preferences.
This is another wicking method taught by Stella Lee in 2017 out of beverages carton.
Absolutely practical and space-saving ideas!
